  • 4 Tips to get you Contouring like a Pro

We get asked questions all the time on how to get a flawless contoured look, so we sat down with our very own  celebrity make up artist NeCee Wilson to get the scoop on some tips she uses when contouring her clients.  Every woman wants that flawless looking face and glowing skin and with theses few tips and tricks you can achieve any look you are going for.

Tip 1: "Beauty is only Skin Deep"

This old saying is actually very true. "Beauty starts with smooth, healthy, glowing skin. Understanding how your skin works is the key", said celebrity make up artist NeCee . Skin types vary from dry to normal to oily to sensitive or even a combination of a few. It is important to identify you skin type and treat it properly.

Tip 2: "Begin with a good foundation"

To create any flawless beauty look you must begin with a great foundation. With so many types to choose from NeCee reminds us that there is one important thing to consider. "When choosing any foundation, concealers, or correctors you must always look at undertone. Your undertone will help you with picking the correct match." A great corrector palette to hide imperfections is the City Color Cosmetics Corrector Palette, that comes in 5 correcting shades.

    Tip 3: "Know your Shape"

Every face is shaped differently. Some common face shapes include: Round, Square, Oblong, Oval and heart shaped. Two helpful tips to remember when contouring is that the , 1. The darker contour color is meant to make areas you contour appear smaller or deep set and 2. The highlight color will bring out and brighten the areas you choose to highlight.

    Tip 4: "Follow the Rules"

    Contour Effects Palette

Necee Wilson, who's been contouring dozens of faces over the years as a make up artist gave us some simple rules to follow when contouring your face:

1.Keep it light in the center, and shadowy at the edges
     2. Start (contouring) at your temple, check bone and follow to your jaw line. Follow the natural contours of your face.
     3. Less is more. Start with less product either powder or cream products. You can always add more later.
     4. Blend with light stippling circular motions with either a contour or small angled blush brush.
     5. Set blush in between the bronzer and highlight and finish with a setting spray."
